The short version
We are an enquiry introducer. When you submit your details through mymortgagefinder.net, we share them with one or more FCA-authorised mortgage brokers so they can contact you about mortgage options suited to your circumstances.
By submitting the form, you are giving your express consent for us to share your enquiry with these broker partners for that purpose. The rest of this policy explains the detail — what we collect, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your rights.
1.Who we are
This website, mymortgagefinder.net, is operated by Studio Dynamics Limited ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller responsible for your personal information collected through this site, in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you can reach us at privacy@mymortgagefinder.net.
2.What we do
My Mortgage Finder is an introducer service. We do not provide mortgage advice, we are not a lender, and we are not a credit broker. Our role is to take the details you provide and pass them on to one or more carefully selected mortgage broker partners, who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Those brokers will then contact you directly to discuss your needs and, where appropriate, provide regulated advice and arrange a mortgage on your behalf.
We may receive a fee from a broker partner for introducing your enquiry. This does not affect the cost of any product or service you ultimately take out — broker fees and lender rates are between you and them.
3.What information we collect
When you complete the enquiry form, we collect:
- Your full name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- Details about your mortgage requirements — whether the application is sole or joint, whether it is a first-time mortgage or a remortgage, the property value, the deposit you have available, and whether the property will be your home or a buy-to-let
We also automatically collect limited technical information when you visit the site, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the date and time of your visit. This is used to keep the site secure and to understand how it's used.
4.How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Pass your enquiry to one or more FCA-authorised mortgage broker partners so they can contact you about your mortgage requirements
- Contact you ourselves if there is a problem with your enquiry, or to confirm we have received it
- Keep records of the enquiries we have processed, as required by law and good business practice
- Improve our service, prevent fraud, and keep our site secure
5.Who we share your information with
By submitting your enquiry, you expressly authorise us to share the information you provide with one or more mortgage broker partners. These partners are FCA-authorised firms that have agreed contractually to handle your data lawfully and use it only to contact you about mortgage products and related financial services.
The broker partner who receives your enquiry will become a separate data controller for the data we share with them. Their own privacy policies will then apply to how they use your information once they receive it. You are entitled to request details of which broker(s) we have shared your enquiry with — see your rights, below.
We may also share your information with:
- Service providers who help us operate the site (for example, hosting providers and email service providers), who only process data on our instructions
- Law enforcement, regulators, or other authorities where we are required to by law
We do not share your information for unrelated marketing purposes outside of the mortgage and related financial services context.
6.Our lawful basis
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases to process your personal information:
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)): when you submit the enquiry form, you are consenting to us sharing your details with broker partners for the purpose of being contacted about a mortgage
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): for running our business, keeping the site secure, and preventing fraud
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)): where we are required to keep records or respond to lawful requests from authorities
7.How long we keep your information
We keep the enquiry data you submit for up to 24 months from the date of your enquiry, after which it is securely deleted from our systems. We may keep limited records longer where we are required to by law, for example for tax or fraud-prevention purposes.
Once we have shared your enquiry with a broker partner, that broker will retain your data in line with their own retention policy and FCA requirements.
8.Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct anything that's inaccurate
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data, subject to any legal grounds we have for keeping it
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
- Objection — object to us processing your data in certain circumstances
- Withdraw consent — withdraw your consent at any time. Please note that withdrawing consent does not affect any sharing of your data that has already taken place
- Complain — lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we have not handled your data lawfully
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@mymortgagefinder.net. We will respond within one month.
9.Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies on our site, primarily to make sure the site works properly, to remember your preferences, and to understand how visitors use it. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of you. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
10.Keeping your data secure
We take the security of your personal information seriously. We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect it — including encrypted connections, access controls, and secure data storage. We carefully select our broker partners and put written agreements in place that require them to protect your data to the same standard.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of the page. If we make significant changes, we'll do our best to let you know — for example, by a notice on the site.
